Kentucky’s U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R) today stated that he supports efforts in the commonwealth of Kentucky to legalize industrial hemp. Gatewood Galbraith Medical Marijuana Bill is also backed by Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner James Comer, Kentucky’s Junior U.S. Senator Rand Paul, the Kentucky Senate Majority Caucus Chair, Senator Dan Seum, and the Senate Majority Floor Leader, Senator Damon Thayer.

The 2012 elections are behind us, and the various gains for the advocates of equality can not be denied. A shift is occurring it would seem, from the previous streak of marriage equality in the states being struck down to a new wave of states embracing equality for it’s citizens. President Obama’s stance on Marriage equality has been labeled as having “evolved” from his previous position of being against marriage equality itself to one of luke warm support. Mitt Romney’s position was one of supporting a Constitutional ban on gay marriage, which is a stance of opposition against states’ rights and their 10th Amendment rights to enact laws willed by the people.



Historic clashes with Kentucky gay rights organizations over for Senate President Williams as he leaves the Senate

Gay rights organizations in Kentucky can breathe a sigh of relief as Senate President David L. Williams (R) leaves office, months after Williams announced that he and his wife are divorcing. Williams was expected to be opposed as President of the Senate during the 2013 legislative session. Some have described this as one of the biggest shakeups in Kentucky government since John “Eck” Rose (D) left office as President Pro Tempore for more than a decade and then president of the Kentucky Senate after Kentucky’s constitutional amendment ousting the Lt. Governor as the Senate President.



Has support for gay and lesbian people in Kentucky grown?

With Republican and Tea Party victories, the gay community will suffer

Election 2010 to be determined by independent voters with angry gay voters and talks of violence and secession
