Republicans gain 10 new Governor’s Mansions, new seats in the Kentucky House, the Kentucky Senate, and take control of the U.S. House of Representatives. With such huge losses to conservatives, the gay military ban will remain in place, with no gay friendly legislation passing either the U.S. or Kentucky Houses or Senates.

According to various sources, the election on November 02, 2010 will be determined by independent voters. If Democratic candidates are counting on long-standing support from gay voters to help stave off big losses on November 2nd, they could be in for a surprise with gay candidates leaning toward the Green and Libertarian Parties.

This year you will find little to no prefiled legislation in Kentucky, a sign that Kentucky lawmakers are not ready to push any particular agenda. Incumbent lawmakers are not sure of the outcome of the November 02, 2010. For better or worse, both Kentucky and the nation are moving in different directions and this election will determine who will control both the Kentucky and the U.S. Senate.

Dee Johnson, the mother of Cheyenne Williams says the Kentucky State Police Investigator assigned to investigate the assault of her daughter perjured himself during the preliminary hearing in Jackson County on April 29, 2010. The judge reduced the charges against the three females charged with the attempted murder and kidnapping of Williams to misdemeanors. Johnson told Kentucky Equality Federation, the advocate for the victim, that the police officer testified he spoke to Sheila Clemons at Daniel Boone about the overall mental state and personal appearance of Cheyenne Williams when she arrived for her job interview after the assault. According to Johnson, who contacted Clemons, the police never contacted her about the investigation.
