LGBTIQ Enrorsements Unimportant to the Beshear-Abramson Campaign.

Perhaps the vote of the LGBTIQ community is unimportant to Governor Beshear, or perhaps he needs the votes in Republican strongholds like Northern, Southern, and extreme Western Kentucky even though the bulk of the Commonwealth’s population resides in the Central Kentucky.

The Kentucky Department of State of without a representative elected by the people as Secretary Trey Grayson has submitted his resignation to Governor Steve Beshear. Grayson lost the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate to the anti-gay Tea Party favorite Rand Paul.

Kentucky Senate President Williams says Kentucky needs new direction, apparently forgetting that his Senate failed to pass a budget, forcing Governor Beshear to call them into special session at an estimated cost of $66,000.00 per day.



Rand Paul pulls back from comments about civil rights and disability

Rand Paul, winner of Kentucky’s Republican nomination to represent the Commonwealth in the U.S. Senate, is working to tamp down the controversy over his statements criticizing nondiscrimination laws. Governor Steve Beshear (D) issued a press release Wednesday calling for Democratic Party unity to defeat Rand Paul in November’s general election. Lieutenant Governor Dan Mongiardo still hasn’t pledged to work on Conway’s behalf. And until he does, that could freeze large numbers of Democratic voters who are faithful to Mongiardo.



Anti-government group threatens Kentucky’s gay-friendly Governor; orders him to resign

Governor Steve Beshear has been receiving threatening letters ordering him to resign according to his security detachment from the Kentucky State Police. Governor Beshear kept a campaign promise to Kentucky’s gay and lesbian community by issuing an executive order adding equal opportunity employment to all employees and prospective employees.



Kentucky budget negotiators stop talking; still no funding for KADAP

Budget negotiations in Frankfort collapsed Wednesday amid enormous differences over a sliver of the spending plan that would create a spate of state-backed construction projects while adding to the Commonwealth’s debt. Organizations across the Commonwealth have expressed alarm and dismay that the budget will be passed that does not include funding for the Kentucky AIDS Drug Assistance Program (KADAP).
